This was fun…

May is National Foster Care Month, a time to raise awareness about the needs of foster care children and youth and recognize the people who support them. This month is an opportunity to learn about the foster care system, advocate for improvements, and get involved in supporting foster children and families.
Why not highlight a young woman who struggled with her experience in the foster care system, then turned it all around with the help of someone who really can only be described as angelic? I mentioned in a previous newsletter that I’d contacted Desiree Cook at I AM YOU 360 for a special mission. Boy, was I right to call her?!

There are hiccups and snafus in all social systems, I’m sure. It’s worse when there are kids getting the short end of the stick. Have a gander at the video (hopefully, it loads correctly) and see what this young lady’s experience taught her, and what she teaches us. This was somewhat of an impromptu video—there’s some background noise as we chatted in a business environment—call it… authenticity!

If you feel like someone you know needs to see this, please forward it to them. There’s no need to keep it to yourself.
